Hi there! My name is Leila and I’m glad you’re here! Living like Leila shares my journey, ups and downs, and experiences through health and fitness, blogging, and holistic living. I strive to be the best I can be…for myself, for people surrounding me, and for this world. I am by no means perfect, but I hope a little bit of my self-improvement and compassion attitude will rub off on you!
I recently graduated with my Master’s in Applied and Environmental Microbiology. I don’t actually want to do anything with it though! I’ve decided I ultimately want blogging to be my full time career!
I love animals probably more than anyone you know, I am vegan because of it!
Fitness is my outlet. I love lifting heavy weights, the natural high I experience, and the physical changes I see and feel.
In relation, I enjoy investing in my health, spirituality, and nutrition. I’m proud to say I’ve never done drugs and I do not drink, I generally even avoid painkillers if I can. I have slowly been practicing meditation, but it is very challenging to clear my mind. I try to eat “clean” as often as I can and I roughly count my macros, but I struggle with a huge sweet tooth!
I am extremely indecisive. You should see how long I take at the grocery store…this is something I am working on.
I have a fear of public speaking, however, I used to teach college students and challenged myself to take presentation heavy classes. One day I will get over this fear!
I tend to dwell on small situations. I hate when I can’t fix things/mistakes right away.
I am quite introverted and experience anxiety in large crowds. Nothing drastic, but I would much rather be in the comfort of my home.
My personality type is INFJ-T. Apparently only about 1% of the population is this type!
The Living like Leila Etsy shop currently sells handmade chokers! Wood slice paintings as well as various canvas paintings will be available soon!
My Fur Babies
These are my fur babies. Nadia (the black and brown one) and Bambi (the tan and white one) are both foster failures, meaning my sister and I were fostering them but ended up adopting them! They both have really unfortunate pasts, but they both have grown incredibly! We foster through Society of Humane Friends (please follow the link and donate if you’re feeling generous! 😊)
My cat Tango loves all people! All cat haters who meet him end up loving him. We found him as a kitten in our yard years ago!
To Sum It All Up
I have a lot of drive and determination to reach my goals. I know who I am, but I believe everyone has room to grow, learn, and challenge themselves. Hopefully you can learn a thing or two from my posts and find motivation to do the things you love! Sorry to sound cliche, but don’t let society or anyone determine your life…do what you love!
